A Few of Our Favorite Sales Podcasts
These days, podcasts have become an increasingly popular source of news and information on a wide range of interests and topics. Sales podcasts are no exception. On Spotify alone, one can find close to 50 shows that delve into sales-related topics. In many cases, they are as interesting and informative as they are fun, and busy remote sales professionals can turn them on in their home office, in the car, and at the coffeeshop. Growing from a niche market, sales podcasts have become a great option to gain sales knowledge that can help you become more effective as a seller or sales leader. With so many to choose from, there’s a style that’s right for just about anyone. At Janek, we went around the office to ask some of our sales pros for their favorite podcasts and what makes them stand out. In no particular order, here are their choices:
The Sales Enablement Podcast with Andy Paul
The Sales Enablement Podcast with Andy Paul, the renowned B2B sales and management expert and author, provides candid, in-depth conversations with exciting sales and marketing leaders that examines insights, perspectives, skills, and technologies that increase performance. Thoughtful and funny, this podcast publishes a new episode every weekday and is a must for serious sales professionals to discover both the established and emerging thought leaders they need to know. With an easy, conversational style, the Sales Enablement podcast appeals to everyone in sales from seasoned veterans to rookie reps just starting out.
Sales Hacker Podcast
Every Tuesday, the Sales Hacker with Sam Jacobs welcomes sales VPs, investors, and founders who offer tips, tactics, and strategies in such topics as lead generation, sales development, enablement hiring, CRM, operations, social selling, sales and account management, sales processes, psychology, customer service, sales technology, sales and marketing alignment, and so much more. With more than 200 episodes, you can learn techniques from the successful sales leaders and practitioners who make a difference in our industry. Serious and focused, with a short five-to-ten-minute segment called Friday Fundamentals, there’s something here to help all reps reach the next level.
The Sales Engagement Podcast
The Sales Engagement Podcast, hosted by Scott Barker and others, focuses on engaging customers with real stories and best practices from revenue leaders in an engaging, talk show format. These fun, energetic discussions showcase tactics, strategies, and hacks that provide actionable ways to build connections and create better selling experiences in the modern sales environment. Featuring a diverse guest list, including many prominent women in sales, this show is perfect for sales and marketing leaders at all levels.
The Sales Leadership Podcast
Since 2018, the Sales Leadership Podcast with Rob Jeppsen has offered weekly episodes that provide insight into relationship/business development, marketing, and corporate strategy for high-performing sales leaders and teams. Confident and upbeat, Rob Jeppsen fully engages a wide range of sales leaders from diverse industries with a lively and entertaining style that should be especially appealing to equally self-assured and eager sales professionals.
The Blissful Prospecting Podcast
The Blissful Prospecting Podcast helps sales leaders and reps boost their outbound sales by sending better emails, making more effective calls, and landing more meetings. Host Jason Bay, who has experience in marketing, sales coaching, and training, is energetic, enthusiastic, and personable, and his discussions with sales leaders are as insightful as they are fun. He also has the best intro music in the sales podcast business. Highly recommended for younger sales teams who will easily relate to his fresh style and perspective.
The Sales Lab
The Sales Lab is hosted by Dr. Willy Bolander, a self-described “boring” professor of business at Florida State University, who researches influence, persuasion, and leadership in sales and sales management. Featuring wide-ranging discussions with sales leaders and other influencers, it is dedicated to “learning something new” through tips and stories. By asking the challenging questions, the Sales Lab gets beyond contemporary research and data to explore cutting-edge ideas in the ever-changing sales industry. An absolute must for inquisitive, intellectual, data-driven sales professionals from reps to managers.
The Journal
The Journal, from the Wall Street Journal and Gimlet, is not specifically devoted to sales, but as a podcast about money, business, and power, it is essential for sales professionals who want to increase their business acumen to better serve their clients. Hosted by Kate Linebaugh and Ryan Knutson, the Journal presents the biggest news stories through a business lens in the matter-of-fact style of a news magazine that should appeal to any sales professional who wants to be up-to-date on the stories that affect business.
Of course, this is just a small sample of the ever-growing list of great sales podcasts out there in styles as diverse as most sales teams. From the bold to the soft spoken, each one provides a range of guests, including some of the most innovative and exciting sales leaders out there, who are eager and enthusiastic about sharing tips and best practices from their vast experiences.
